Privacy Policy

1. What information Jobs180.com collects and why

Categories of personal information

"User Personal Information" is any personal information about one of our users which could, alone or together with other information, personally identify them. Information such as a username and password, an email address, a real name, and a photograph are examples of “User Personal Information.”

"Technical Information" may include information we collect from website browsers, such as web server logs, or other log information, such as User session or activity logs. Technical Information may be connected to User Personal Information such as a username or an email address, or to other potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses.

User Personal Information does not include aggregated, non-personally identifying information. We may use aggregated, non-personally identifying information to operate, analyze, improve, and optimize our website and service.

Information from users with accounts

If you create a ResumeLink account, we require some basic information at the time of account creation. You will create your own username and password, and we will ask you for a valid email address. You also need to give us more information if you want to, and this will include "User Personal Information" such as mobile number, birthdate, location (region and city), educational background, work experience, job preferences and other information associated with a resume for job applications.

If you choose to add character references to your ResumeLink, we will ask you for their names, telephone numbers, emails, position titles and other relevant particulars. These information will be enclosed as part of your job application and employers may contact them to get references for your applications. The giving of this information represents that you have obtained the references’ consent for their data to be given to us.

If you are registering as an Employer account, we require some information about your company and your role within the company, such as the company name, business address, email address and phone number of a primary contact person. We may also require your registration certificates or permits such as that from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) or the city government. Upon creating an account, you may choose to add additional users, in which case, we would need the name and email address of these new users. We use the information we gather to manage your account, including sending ResumeLinks of Applicants, contacting you if there is an issue with your job ad and organizing payment and invoicing of the account.

If you wish to stop us from processing this type of personal information about you, we will no longer be able to provide the relevant services to you.

In addition, we may ask your permission to post your testimonial or success story. If you agree to post your material on our website, you should be aware that any personal information you submit can be read, collected, or used by other users of our website, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. If you wish to update or delete your testimonial, you can contact us.

Information from website browsers

If you're just browsing the website, we collect the same basic information that most websites collect. We use common internet technologies, such as cookies and web server logs, to collect Technical Information. This is stuff we collect from everybody, whether they have an account or not.

The information we collect about all visitors to our website includes the visitor’s browser type, language preference, referring site, additional websites requested, and the date and time of each visitor request. We also collect potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses.

In addition, as part of the standard operation of the website, we may collect and analyze information from your computer or mobile device and actions taken on the website, including, but not limited to, your resume, your searches on Jobs180.com, the titles of jobs you search, click on or apply to, where those jobs are located, experience or position level and the general salary range of the jobs you view (where indicated), your activity time on the website and each page, page views, clicks, taps, session activity, browser type, operating system, type of device, and the domain name from which you accessed the website.

We may track your visits to our website by placing a "cookie" on your computer or other access device when you enter. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or other access device by websites that you visit. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more effectively, as well as to provide information to the owners of the websites.

Cookies allow us to save preferences for you so that you will not have to re-enter the next time you visit. Cookies also help us collect anonymous click stream data for tracking user trends and patterns. We may use the anonymous click stream data to help Employers deliver better-targeted advertisements.

You can remove cookies by following directions provided in your internet browser’s “help” file. You should understand that areas of certain websites will not function properly if you set your internet browser to not accept cookies.

We also use clear gifs in its HTML-based emails in order to find out which emails have been opened by the recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of its marketing campaigns.

Jobs180.com processes User Personal Information on the following legal bases:

2. What information Jobs180.com does not collect

We don't want to discourage you from creating a professional profile or finding a job, but those are the rules. Please see our Terms of Service for information about account termination. Other countries may have different minimum age limits, and if you are below the minimum age for providing consent for data collection in your country, you may not use Jobs180.com without obtaining your parents' or legal guardians' consent.

ResumeLink content

Jobs180.com employees do not access the account unless required to for security reasons, to assist the user with a support matter, or to maintain the integrity of the service. Our Terms of Service provides more details.

If your ResumeLink is public, anyone (including us and unaffiliated third parties) may view its contents. If you have included private or sensitive information in your public ResumeLink, such as email addresses or passwords, that information may be indexed by search engines or used by third parties. In addition, while we do not generally search for content in your user account, we may scan our servers for certain tokens or security signatures, or for known active malware.

3. How and to whom we share the information we collect

We do share User Personal Information with your permission, so we can perform services you have requested or communicate on your behalf. For example, if you applied for a job vacancy, or joined a job fair coordinated by Jobs180.com, your ResumeLink can be viewed by the Employer user.

Additionally, your school can view your public ResumeLink when extracting tracer reports regarding academic and employment status.

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade User Personal Information with third parties for their commercial purposes, except where you have specifically told us to (such as when you apply for a job online).

We do not host advertising on Jobs180.com. We may occasionally embed content from third party sites, such as YouTube, and that content may include ads. While we try to minimize the amount of ads our embedded content contains, we can't always control what third parties show. Any advertisements on individual Jobs180.com Pages are not sponsored by, or tracked by, Jobs180.com.

We do not disclose User Personal Information outside Jobs180.com, except in the situations listed in this section or in the section below on Compelled Disclosure.

We do share certain aggregated, non-personally identifying information with others about how our users, collectively, use Jobs180.com, or how our users respond to job advertisements and email marketing. For example, we may compile statistics on the job applications across Jobs180.com. However, we do not sell this information to advertisers or marketers.

We do share User Personal Information with a limited number of third party vendors who process it on our behalf to provide or improve our service, and who have agreed to privacy restrictions similar to our own Privacy Statement by signing data protection agreements. Our vendors perform services such as payment processing, customer support ticketing, network data transmission, and other similar services. When we transfer your data to our vendors, we remain responsible for it. While Jobs180.com processes all User Personal Information in the Philippines, our third party vendors may process data outside of the United States or the European Union.

We do share aggregated, non-personally identifying information with third parties. For example, in the event of a security incident, we may share the number of times a particular file was accessed.

We may share User Personal Information if we are involved in a merger, sale, or acquisition. If any such change of ownership happens, we will ensure that it is under terms that preserve the confidentiality of User Personal Information, and we will notify you on our website or by email before any transfer of your User Personal Information. The organization receiving any User Personal Information will have to honor any promises we have made in our Privacy Policy or in our Terms of Service.

Data retention and deletion of data

Generally, Jobs180.com will retain User Personal Information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services.

We may retain certain User Personal Information indefinitely, unless you delete it or request its deletion. For example, we don’t automatically delete inactive user accounts, so unless you choose to delete your account, we will retain your account information indefinitely.

If you would like to cancel your account or delete your User Personal Information, you may do so in your user profile. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, but barring legal requirements, we will delete your full profile (within reason) within 90 days. You may contact Jobs180.com Support to request the erasure of the data we process on the basis of consent within 30 days.

After an account has been deleted, certain data, such as customer support tickets, will remain. However, we will delete or deidentify your personal information, including your username and email address, from the author field of issues, pull requests, and comments by associating them as a deleted user.

All your job applications will also be automatically withdrawn from the Employer accounts, and your ResumeLink will be disabled. Your school will also no longer see your profile in their list of alumni. However, Employers who have previously downloaded your application and profile may retain a copy of your ResumeLink.

The email address you have supplied via your account registration will always be associated with your ResumeLink. If you chose to make your email address private, you should also update your account settings. We are unable to change or delete data in your account history — our system is designed to maintain a record — but we do enable you to control what information you put in that record.

We only use these third party analytics providers on certain areas of our website, and all of them have signed data protection agreements with us that limit the type of personal information they can collect and the purpose for which they can process the information. In addition, we use our own internal analytics software to provide features and improve our content and performance.
